The expansion site for the new corporate headquarters of the Brenntag AG, a prominent global chemical distribution company is situated at the so-called Gruga Carree in Essen. Ground was broken in October 2015. The company is expected to relocate in late 2017 from Mühlheim a. d. Ruhr to the new building in Essen-Rüttenscheid, which provides approximately 20,700 m2 gross floor area. Following a multi-phase selection process, HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung GmbH, in cooperation with JSWD Architekten, had been awarded the contract back in 2014. HOCHTIEF is now in charge of constructing the administrative building for approximately 650 office personnel. The selected location provides easy access to the main traffic arteries.
The uniformly structured façade has adapted the “Periodic Table of the Elements”, which is without doubt the most important table in chemistry, and in doing so it projects the principal focus of the future tenant.
