A new city quarter with approx. 470 residential units including a kindergarten with three to four age groups and an integrated supermarket is being developed on the former police force. The city quarter has been planned as a car-free zone with four to seven storey high buildings. JSWD was entrusted with planning five multiple family houses. The sizes of the two to five room apartments range from 50 to 125sqm and are planned for different generations, including some with barrier-free access. Each apartment orients to at least two directions and offers a generous open space that provides the occupants with a relation to the outside. The different layouts enable diverse options of use and the layout configurations may vary depending on the requirements of the users. There are several underground parking garages with 500 spaces in total to accommodate the residents’ vehicles. Additional overground spaces are available for visitors.

The clear structure of the facade creates a uniform and contemporary character of the quarter within the urban planning context. The individual houses are identified by the differentiated structure of the clinker façade.
