Client: Oliver + Dieter Kleinjohann, Cologne
Completion 2015

The only remaining listed workshop building of the former "Möbelfabrik Heinrich Abelen" from the 1920s was revitalized and converted to office use. For this purpose, the old building was renovated in accordance with the preservation order and a stacked storey was added. The historic, identity-creating effect of the existing building in the heterogeneous environment of the urban mixed-use area was restored by deconstructing interim interventions in the substance of the building. The floor plans were designed flexibly to meet tenants' wishes - single and combined offices are possible. All tenants can use the conference zone with lounge in the basement.

A new 4-5-story building, also with a clinker facade, is to be constructed later on an adjacent lot. The aim is to restore the historic courtyard situation and create a new urban quality.
