In the future, the Bamberg Clinic is to be expanded into a healthcare campus at the Bruderwald site. This "one-site concept" is intended to future-proof the region's health care. The master plan in question was developed by JSWD in cooperation with the offices of BFS+ GmbH from Bamberg and Team 4 from Nuremberg and was presented to the Bamberg Building and Works Senate on December 7.
The expansion of the site will take place in stages. The expansion will start in 2024 with the planning of new premises for psychiatry.
Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
