Reuse heritage-protected building ensemble in Bonn
Client: MEAG MUNICH ERGO AssetManagement GmbH, Municn, Germany
Completion 2014

Following the technical due diligence and completion of the subsequent feasibility study for the development of existing units of the heritage-protected ensemble in the inner city area of Bonn, the various existing buildings underwent gentle repairs and some were converted. The surrounding area is characterized by historic building structures for predominantly residential use. The origins of the updated buildings with their “Gründerzeit” exterior fronts date back to the 1890s. They had undergone several expansions as well as some remodeling during the past several decades.

The building complex was realigned into four rental areas. A new foyer has been added to the three office units and a contemporary atmosphere was created. We succeeded in preserving the historic stucco ceiling in some units. One building unit continues to serve residential purposes containing three apartments.
